Brian Lee

Brian Lee is an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean (Resources & Infrastructure) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, leading the Asian Lifestyle Design Research Lab and the BA (Hons) in Product Design program. His work bridges product design, interactive systems, and social innovation, focusing on sustainability, aging societies, and community-driven solutions.

Brian’s research explores human-centered design to address challenges like sustainable consumption, age-friendly public spaces, and technology adoption among elderly populations. He develops frameworks for co-creation, behavior change systems, and eco-materials integration, as seen in projects like REMA (Regional Eco-materials Archive) and smart healthcare technologies.

His recent publications focus on inclusive public design, smart aging technologies, and behavior change in physical environments, reflecting interests in design for sustainability and intergenerational design. Collaborative projects with institutions like the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation highlight his interdisciplinary approach.
