معرفی
Brian Lau Verndal Bak is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University (AAU), affiliated with the Department of Materials and Production within The Faculty of Engineering and Science. His research focuses on composite materials, fatigue damage mechanisms, and structural mechanics, particularly in wind turbine blade design and delamination behavior. He leads and participates in high-impact projects like CIRCWIND and MulFat, funded by the European Union and Danish Industry Foundation.
Key research interests include delamination modeling, fiber bridging, and fatigue-driven damage in layered composites. His work integrates advanced computational methods (e.g., ANSYS cohesive elements) and experimental validation, with applications in renewable energy infrastructure. Bak’s research group (CraCS) develops tools like HISAPS and MatrixCraCS for automated material analysis and damage tracking.
Recent publications emphasize quasi-static and fatigue delamination in carbon-glass interfaces, nonlinear material behavior of binder-stabilized fabrics, and wind turbine blade manufacturing optimization. He actively contributes to peer-reviewed journals (e.g., Composites Part A, Engineering Fracture Mechanics) and collaborates internationally. Projects like Reshape Waste highlight his commitment to circular design and sustainable materials innovation.
Bak’s academic contributions include over 77 peer-reviewed articles, 5 datasets, and leadership in 11 research projects. His work bridges computational modeling, experimental validation, and industrial applications, addressing challenges in composite durability and renewable energy systems.
