Brian Glenney is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Norwich University. His research focuses on the history of philosophy, particularly themes related to sensory perception and the senses, as evidenced by his co-edited volumes in Routledge’s Rewriting the History of Philosophy series. He has contributed to peer-reviewed journals and written popular essays on skateboarding, graffiti subculture, and art for platforms like the Huffington Post and Thrasher Magazine.
Glenney’s work extends beyond academia into activism through co-founding the Accessible Icon Project, which reimagines the International Symbol of Access to promote an active, inclusive representation of disability. This initiative reflects his passion for defamiliarizing art and advocating for extreme mobility advocacy.
His interdisciplinary approach bridges philosophy with contemporary cultural practices, emphasizing the intersection of theory and real-world impact through design and social activism.
