Brian D. Robinson, M.D., is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Professor of Pathology in Urology at Weill Cornell Medical College. As a board-certified anatomic pathologist with subspecialty expertise in Genitourinary Pathology, his work bridges clinical diagnostics, molecular mechanisms, and precision oncology in prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers.
- Education:
- M.D., Weill Cornell Medical College (2006)
- B.A., Washington University in St. Louis (2002)
His research focuses on:
- Androgen receptor signaling and its role in prostate carcinogenesis
- SPOP mutations as drivers of prostate tumorigenesis
- Single-cell genomics to study tumor heterogeneity
- Digital pathology for biomarker development
- Epigenetic mechanisms in advanced prostate cancer
Recent publications highlight computational pathology approaches, tumor microenvironment dynamics, and molecular diagnostics for urothelial and prostate cancers. He serves on expert panels for prostate and bladder cancer classification and co-authored Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine guidelines.
Honors include the Paul Peter Rosen Clinical Service Award (2020) and multiple teaching awards. He directs Anatomic Pathology for his department and contributes to medical education at Weill Cornell.
