Brian Coley is an Assistant Professor and Allied Health Program Coordinator at Rogers State University (RSU), affiliated with the School of Nursing and Health Professions. He holds a BSc in Physical Education from the University of Central Oklahoma (1990) and a Master of Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy (1991). His career spans over three decades in athletic training, with roles in secondary schools, professional rodeo events, and collegiate athletics. He has served on the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers’ Association (OATA) Executive Committee and as its President, culminating in his Hall of Fame induction.
Research interests include athletic injury prevention, sports medicine practices, and health professions education. He emphasizes practical experience, having worked as a Football Medical Observer for the Big 12 Conference and covered the University of Miami’s football program as a graduate assistant.
Outside academia, Coley remains active in fitness and advocacy for athletic safety. He mentors students, encouraging them to pursue healthcare careers, and actively promotes RSU’s Allied Health programs. Personal highlights include family life with his wife Jana and son Brent, who aspires to firefighting.
