Brian Cadman is Chair and Professor of Accounting at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business. He holds the David Eccles Professorship in Accounting. Previously, he taught at the Kellogg School of Management and Wharton School. He earned a BA from Harvard University (2000) and a PhD in Accounting from the University of Oregon (2005).
His research focuses on executive compensation design, governance mechanisms, and the role of accounting information in labor markets. Notable studies include analyses of compensation consultants' influence on CEO pay, TARP participation incentives, and pension plans' role in executive compensation. His work has been cited by the SEC and published in top journals like the Journal of Accounting and Economics and Journal of Management Accounting Research.
