Brian Ball is the Head of Faculty and Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at New College of the Humanities (NCH) in London, and an Associate Member of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Oxford. His academic journey includes a BA (Hons) in Philosophy with a Linguistics minor from McGill University (2000), followed by a BPhil (2003) and DPhil (2008) in Philosophy at the University of Oxford, where he was a Marion Buck Scholar and funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. He previously held lectureships at St Anne’s and Balliol College, Oxford, before joining NCH in 2013.
Ball’s research focuses on metaphysics, epistemology, and the philosophies of mind and language. His teaching spans a broad range of philosophical disciplines. He has received the Prince of Wales Medal in Mental and Moral Philosophy for his undergraduate work at McGill.
