معرفی
Brian Adair, Ph.D., is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Investigator/Instructor in Nephrology at the Mass General Research Institute. His laboratory, located at 149 13th Street, Charlestown, MA, applies cutting-edge electron cryomicroscopy to determine high-resolution structures of medically important macromolecules.
Research Focus:
- Structural characterization of the PKD1/PKD2 protein complex central to autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease
- Cryo-EM studies of integrins and their membrane-protein partners
- Mechanisms of transmembrane signaling by TRP-family ion channels
By combining biochemical reconstitution, 2D crystallization, and single-particle cryo-EM, Dr. Adair’s group aims to elucidate the architectural principles that govern membrane-protein assembly and dysfunction in renal disease.
