معرفی
Dr. Brett Thomas is a Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide's Acid Sulfate Soil Centre (Biogeochemistry Research Group) within the School of Biological Sciences. His full-time role involves addressing complex environmental challenges through research and consulting. He collaborates with industry and government agencies to manage issues like acid sulfate soils, climate change impacts, and contaminated land.
His research focuses on biogeochemical processes across molecular, field, and global scales. Notable projects include acid sulfate soil mapping, drought effects on soils/water, and wetland management. Brett mentors students in real-world projects, enhancing their employability. The group operates at the Waite Campus, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration.
Grants and Projects (2017-2019):
- National Acid Sulfate Soil Guidance Review (DEW, $12k)
- Riverine Project Investigation (DEW, $450k)
- Acid Drainage Management Plans (Various Clients, $120k)
Brett supervises students such as Mr. Austin Trueman (MPhil) and Xihe Zhang (Honours), focusing on drought impacts and soil dynamics. His work bridges academic research with practical environmental solutions.
