Brett Stoudt is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Doctoral Program at the CUNY Graduate Center, where he serves as the Deputy Executive Officer of the Graduate Center Campus. He holds dual affiliations with the Social Welfare and Urban Education doctoral programs. His research focuses on the social psychology of privilege/oppression, policing, and criminal punishment systems, emphasizing participatory action research and critical quantitative methodologies.
Dr. Stoudt earned his Ph.D. from the CUNY Graduate Center. His work bridges academia and public advocacy, collaborating with community groups, lawyers, and policymakers. Notable awards include the Michele Alexander Early Career Award and the Truth to Power Award for collaborative research. He co-leads the Public Science Project and has contributed to studies like the 2022 analysis of low-level arrests' racialized harms.
