Brett Landry

Brett J. L. Landry is a Professor of Cybersecurity at the Gupta College of Business, University of Dallas. He holds certifications such as CISSP, C|EH, CISA, and CRISC. Landry has over 30 years of experience in cybersecurity consulting, teaching, and research. He has taught globally and presented in multiple regions including Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. His work includes leading network redesigns and advancing cybersecurity education through the University’s NSA/DHS-designated Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense.

Education:

• B.S. in Management (MIS concentration) – University of New Orleans
• M.S. in IT, MBA, and PhD in Technology Education – Mississippi State University

Research Interests: Cybersecurity, IT Ethics, Network Architecture, Disaster Recovery, Data Mining, and Privacy Policies. His recent publications focus on user privacy perceptions of voice assistants, zero-trust networks, and ethical frameworks for online privacy.

Awards:

• Recipient of Dallas CEO 500 Award (2019-2022) for influence as a business leader in North Texas

Advising & Grants: Landry has advised professionals worldwide through academic and corporate engagements. His leadership as Dean of the Gupta College of Business included institutional advancements recognized by the Dallas CEO 500. He contributes actively to academic-industry partnerships and cybersecurity policy initiatives.

Labs/Teams: Key contributor to the University of Dallas’ NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, fostering collaboration between academia and government/industry sectors.
