Brett Davis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology from Louisiana State University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UTK under Scott Crouter, focusing on wearable technology. His research spans muscle physiology, wearable tech applications, and fitness industry practices across government, corporate, and military sectors.
Education:
- PhD in Exercise Physiology, Louisiana State University (2023)
- Postdoctoral Fellowship in Wearable Technology, University of Tennessee (2023–present)
- M.Ed. in Exercise Science, Texas State University (2010)
- B.S. in Kinesiology and Nutrition, University of North Texas (2001)
Research Focus: Davis explores wearable technology integration in fitness, muscle strength optimization via resistance training, and aging-related physical function. His work bridges laboratory research with real-world applications in corporate wellness, military conditioning, and clinical settings. Recent studies emphasize precision in body composition analysis and the impact of diet on physical performance in elderly populations.
Labs & Teams: Involved with the Applied Exercise Physiology Laboratory and collaborates across university labs specializing in biomechanics and physical activity epidemiology.
