Brent Sanderlin

Brent Sanderlin, DO, is the Chair of Primary Care and Clinical Medicine and an Associate Professor at the Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM), joining the faculty in April 2023. His career spans academic leadership, clinical practice, and specialized certifications.

• Education: Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNTHSC-TCOM).

Dr. Sanderlin’s research and professional focus lies in Family Medicine, Clinical Informatics, and Occupational Medicine, with expertise in medical education and public health. His clinical experience includes board certifications in Family Medicine (American Osteopathic Board and American Board), Clinical Informatics (American Board of Preventive Medicine), alongside a Certificate of Additional Qualification in Occupational Medicine and a Certificate in Travel Health.

He has held leadership roles in professional organizations, notably as former president of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, and served in administrative roles such as Chief Medical Information Officer for Seton Healthcare of Austin. Dr. Sanderlin is also certified as an FAA Senior Medical Examiner.
