Breno Fragomeni is an Associate Professor in the Animal Science Department at the University of Connecticut, joining in 2018 as an Assistant Professor and promoted to his current role in 2025. His academic journey began with a PhD in Animal and Dairy Science from the University of Georgia (2015), preceded by an MSc in Animal Science (2012) and a BVSc in Veterinary Science (2009).

His research focuses on genomic selection for improving livestock health and performance, emphasizing disease resistance, environmental robustness, and sustainability. He explores genotype-by-environment interactions and applies genomic tools to mitigate livestock's environmental impact. Current projects include genetic evaluation of service dogs and novel trait selection for heat stress tolerance and resilience.
