Associate Professor Brendon Neuen is a Staff Specialist Nephrologist, Director of Kidney Trials at Royal North Shore Hospital, and Senior Research Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health. Affiliated with the Northern Clinical School under the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health, he specializes in cardio-kidney-metabolic health.
- Education: Medicine (1st Class Honours) from James Cook University, Masters in Global Health and Epidemiology from University of Oxford, PhD from UNSW.
His research focuses on clinical trials evaluating therapies for chronic kidney disease, heart failure, and diabetes, particularly SGLT2 inhibitors. He leads the SMART-C Consortium analyzing data from 90,000+ patients across global trials.
His work has shaped >25 international clinical practice guidelines including KDIGO and ADA standards. He serves on editorial boards of American Society of Nephrology and Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation.
