Brenda Ghitulescu is an Associate Professor of Management and currently serves as the Chair of the Management Department at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) School of Business. She has been at TCNJ since 2009, first as an Assistant Professor (2009-2015) and then as an Associate Professor (2015-Ongoing), becoming Department Chair in 2023. Prior to TCNJ, she was an Assistant Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology's Saunders School of Business (2007-2009).
Dr. Ghitulescu's educational background includes:

- MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Polytechnic University of Bucharest, 1994
Her research focuses on how employees proactively shape their workplace interactions and relationships, the pursuit of meaning and calling among creative workers, and contextual influences on workplace relationships. Current research projects examine mentoring and gender differences in creative performance, meaning in work among creative professionals, and how workspace design affects work relationships and organizational community. Her work bridges organizational behavior with environmental psychology, exploring how physical spaces influence social dynamics and productivity.
Dr. Ghitulescu's scholarly contributions demonstrate a consistent focus on proactive behavior at work, job crafting, and the psychological aspects of workplace relationships. Her research trajectory has evolved from foundational work on adaptive and proactive behavior to more nuanced examinations of meaning in work, particularly among creative professionals, and the impact of physical workspace on organizational community.

Dr. Ghitulescu is actively involved in the academic community, serving on the Editorial Review Board for the Group & Organization Management journal and the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council. She is a member of the Academy of Management, Eastern Academy of Management, and European Group and Organization Studies.
