Brenda Brady is a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast's School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work. Her research focuses on arts-based interventions in adult mental health, stigma, and help-seeking behavior, particularly within the Northern Ireland context. She employs mixed-methods approaches, building on stigma theory and collaborating with organizations like the Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts Festival.
Brady has been awarded prestigious prizes including the AHSS Faculty Prize (2018), Brian Rankin Medal (2020), and DfE-funded scholarships supporting her doctoral studies. She actively participates in academic activities such as the EAPC World Congress and Trinity College Dublin's PG Research Conference, presenting on methodologies like collage-based research techniques.
Her work bridges social work education and mental health advocacy, emphasizing the arts' role in addressing systemic stigma. Current research explores underexplored areas of arts integration in mental health interventions, with a focus on practical methodologies and policy implications.
