معرفی
Dr Bree Tillett is a Research Fellow at the University of Queensland (UQ), affiliated with the Frazer Institute under the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. She holds a PhD from Charles Darwin University and specializes in microbiology, immunology, and genetic studies. Her research focuses on the role of gut microbiota in type 1 diabetes prevention, marine biodiversity conservation, and microbial ecology.
Research Interests: Dr Tillett explores microbiome-driven mechanisms in autoimmune diseases, particularly type 1 diabetes, through pre-clinical models and dietary interventions. She also investigates genetic diversity in marine species (e.g., sharks) and microbial source tracking in environmental contexts.
Recent work includes SCFA biotherapy studies in mice, COPD microbiome research, and global bull shark genetic analyses. Her grants include NHMRC funding for microbiota-based diabetes prevention and Helmsley Trust support for early-life microbiome studies.
Dr Tillett supervises PhD candidates in type 1 diabetes, microbiome-diet interactions, and immune checkpoint therapy outcomes. She is involved in interdisciplinary teams at the Frazer Institute, focusing on translational research in health and disease.
