Brant J. Hellwig is a Professor of Tax Law and Faculty Director of the Graduate Tax Program at New York University School of Law since 2022. He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU (2000), JD from Wake Forest University School of Law (1997, magna cum laude), and BS in Mathematical Economics (1994, summa cum laude). His expertise spans Estate and Gift Taxation, Federal Income Taxation, and Taxation of Business Entities, with a focus on the United States Tax Court's jurisdiction and history. He has authored influential treatises, including updated editions of Estate and Gift Taxation and Exploring Hoops, and co-authored Fundamentals of Partnership Taxation. Hellwig teaches courses such as Taxation of Property Transactions, Corporate Taxation, and Partnership Taxation.
