Brant G. Miller is a Professor of Science Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Idaho, within the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota (2010), alongside M.S. and B.S. degrees from Black Hills State University (2004 and 2001). His research focuses on advancing science education through innovative frameworks like adventure learning, place-based education, and integrating technology such as augmented reality into curricula. He emphasizes culturally responsive pedagogy, particularly in STEM fields, and has explored Indigenous knowledge systems, environmental citizenship, and teacher professional development.
Miller teaches courses such as EDCI 329 (Elementary Science Methods) and EDCI 201 (Contexts of Education). His work bridges traditional and modern educational practices, addressing topics like community-driven creek restoration projects, STEM curriculum reform in Chile, and the role of technology in enhancing scientific visualization. He has collaborated on projects funded by initiatives like the CI-TEAM Demo program and contributed to the SAGE Encyclopedia of Out-of-School Learning.
