Brandys Evans, MA, RCC-ACS, serves as Associate Faculty and is the owner/operator of Boomerang Counselling Centre. She provides practicum placement and supervision to counselling psychology students while engaging in clinical work with clients spanning from children to seniors, with specialized focus on neurodivergence and personality disorders.
Her educational journey includes a Master of Arts degree and imminent completion of her doctorate in counselling and psychotherapy. Her doctoral research specifically targets shame as an intervention point in therapeutic settings. She approaches teaching through collaboration and self-reflection to help students develop foundational clinical skills for professional practice.
Research interests center on counselling psychology and psychotherapy, with deep exploration of neurodivergence, personality disorders, and shame-based interventions. Her work extends to child/youth emotional regulation through publications including the book 'LISTEN!: Helping your child manage their emotions' and the 'Children and Youth Interview Skills' training video developed for the Society for Children and Youth of BC.
At Boomerang Counselling Centre, she integrates clinical practice with student supervision, emphasizing strengths-based development and practical skill-building for emerging counsellors. Her methodology actively harnesses student abilities while navigating growth challenges inherent in clinical training.
