Brandt van der Gaast is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Utrecht University's Faculty of Humanities. He teaches philosophy, ethics, and logic courses for the philosophy, artificial intelligence, and PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) programs. Previously, he held a position at the University of Twente and earned his PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Research Interests: His academic work focuses on philosophy, ethics, and logic with particular attention to their applications in artificial intelligence and technology. He explores the philosophical implications of AI systems and the ethical frameworks necessary for responsible technological development.
