Brandon P. Turner is the Lyceum Professor at the Snow Institute for the Study of Capitalism and an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Clemson University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has held visiting roles at American University and Wake Forest University. His research focuses on modern political thought, British liberalism, and republicanism, with notable work on thinkers like Mandeville, Hobbes, Tocqueville, and Marx.

- M.A. and Ph.D. Political Science – University of Wisconsin-Madison (2008)
Research emphasizes textual analysis of classical political philosophy, particularly Machiavelli’s use of antagonism in political thought. His work has been recognized with the 2012 Review of Politics Award. His publications appear in Political Theory, Polity, and Perspectives on Political Science.
He is affiliated with the Snow Institute for the Study of Capitalism’s Lyceum Program and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams studying capitalism’s intellectual foundations.
