معرفی
Brandon Kitay, MD, PhD is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and a Research Fellow at the Yale Depression Research Program. He holds a BS in Biology (University of Miami, 2004), PhD in Neuroscience (2012), and MD (2014), all from the University of Miami. His clinical expertise includes Interventional Psychiatry and he completed a Psychiatry residency at Yale (2018). Board-certified in Psychiatry since 2018, his work focuses on innovative treatments for treatment-resistant depression, including electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), ketamine, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), and deep brain stimulation (DBS).
Research interests span neuropsychiatric interventions, neurodegenerative mechanisms, and translational neuroscience. Key projects include analyzing ECT's impact on anxiety in treatment-resistant patients and comparing ketamine delivery methods across age groups. His 2025 study on ECT and anxiety highlights clinical advancements in mood disorder management.
Publications emphasize clinical trials, neurobiological mechanisms, and translational research. Notable contributions include a 2024 review on DBS for depression and a 2013 study on mitochondrial roles in axon protection. He has contributed to educational resources like '50 Studies Every Psychiatrist Should Know' (2018).
Awards include recognition at Yale’s 2018 Commencement for his scholarly contributions. His research integrates clinical practice with neuroscientific innovation, addressing critical gaps in depression treatment efficacy and patient outcomes.
