Dr. Bradley Quon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine. He serves as Principal Investigator at the University of British Columbia Centre for Heart Lung Innovation and is the Medical Lead of the CF Canada Clinical Trial Network. His work bridges clinical practice and research in cystic fibrosis care.
Dr. Quon received his BSc in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of British Columbia, followed by an MD/MBA dual degree from McGill University. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Respirology at UBC, then undertook two years of formal clinical research training in cystic fibrosis at the University of Washington, earning an MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
His research program focuses on developing better diagnostic and monitoring tools for cystic fibrosis complications including pulmonary exacerbations, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, and non-tuberculous mycobacteria. He employs innovative approaches using proteomics, transcriptomics, and computational biology to analyze blood and sputum samples at molecular levels. A parallel research interest examines the burden of CF on patients and healthcare systems using administrative and registry-based datasets to analyze health outcomes across disease stages and treatment access.
Dr. Quon's publication record shows consistent research productivity with over 130 publications spanning from 2005 to 2025, with increasing output in recent years. His work demonstrates a strong focus on both basic science aspects of CF (biomarker discovery, molecular mechanisms) and clinical/applied research (treatment efficacy, healthcare economics, clinical guidelines).

Dr. Quon supervises multiple graduate students including PhD candidates in Experimental Medicine and the School of Population and Public Health. His research is supported through the CF Canada Clinical Trial Network and various institutional grants. His team includes research technicians and students working on biomarker development and clinical outcomes research.
He leads several major research initiatives including Blood Biomarkers to Predict CF Pulmonary Exacerbations, Biological Clustering of CF Pulmonary Exacerbations (BioPEx), Biomarkers of Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis in CF, International Comparisons of Survival and Transplant Outcomes in CF, and the CF Canada Accelerating Clinical Trials Network (CF CanACT).
