Bradley M. Appelhans is a Professor in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine at Rush Medical College (Rush University). His academic roles include Director of the Section of Clinical Preventive Medicine and membership in the Division of Behavioral Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of Arizona, with additional training through fellowships at Northwestern University, Rush University Medical Center, and the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Clinical Psychology. His clinical expertise focuses on health psychology, obesity, and weight management.
Research interests span behavioral interventions for obesity, cardiometabolic health, and the impact of socioeconomic factors on health outcomes. He has led studies on pediatric weight management in low-income families, the effects of the pandemic on health behaviors, and the role of neighborhood environments in chronic disease.
