معرفی
Bradley Carr is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Wyoming (UW). He also serves as the Director of the UW Near-Surface Geophysics Instrument Center (UWNSG) and Facility Manager of the Wyoming Center for Environmental Hydrology & Geophysics (WyCEHG) FINSE group. His research focuses on near-surface geophysical methodologies, groundwater systems, and critical zone processes in mountainous and hydrothermal environments.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manages ~$2.6M in geophysical equipment and services through UWNSG.
- Oversees borehole logging and materials testing in the Heller Lab.
- Directs hydrogeophysical projects in Laramie, WY, and Yellowstone National Park.
Research Interests:
- Integrated use of seismic, electromagnetic, and geophysical logging techniques.
- Groundwater recharge patterns in mountain headwater systems.
- Environmental geophysics applications in contaminated aquifers and hydrothermal systems.
Education and Experience:
- Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Oak Ridge National Lab (1996–1999) and University of Saskatchewan (1993–1996).
- Industry experience as Senior Geophysicist at Advanced Geosciences and Geophex, Inc.
Teaching:
- Instructor for GEOL 4717-04 Summer Field Geology Course: Geophysics.
Grants and Projects:
Projects include critical zone studies in the Laramie Range and Yellowstone, funded through collaborative federal and institutional grants. Active projects focus on subsurface connectivity, weathering dynamics, and geothermal fluid pathways.
Labs/Teams:
- WyCEHG FINSE hydrogeophysics group.
- UWNSG instrumentation center.
