استاد · Mechanism and regulation of non coding RNA function in mammalian cells
Graz University of Technologyمعرفی
Irene Bozzoni is a Full Professor of Molecular Biology at the University of Rome, specializing in non-coding RNA research. Her work explores the regulatory mechanisms of non-coding RNA in mammalian cells, their role in gene expression control, and their therapeutic applications in diseases like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
- Current: Full Professor of Molecular Biology, University of Rome
- Past: Associate Professor (1986-1994), Staff Scientist (1980-1986), Research Fellow (1978-1980) at CNR, Rome
Her research focuses on long non-coding RNAs, microRNA biogenesis, and RNA-based therapies. Publications highlight RNA-gene interactions, muscle differentiation, and molecular circuitries in diseases.
Scientific honors include Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei Prizes (2003, 2006), the Sapienza Ricerca Award (2010), and memberships in EMBO and Academia Europaea.
