Boris Kalinin is a Professor of Mathematics at The Pennsylvania State University's Department of Mathematics, part of the Eberly College of Science. He holds a Ph.D. (2000) and B.S. (1995) in Mathematics from Penn State and St. Petersburg State University, respectively.
His research focuses on Dynamical Systems, Ergodic Theory, and Geometry, with emphasis on rigidity phenomena, hyperbolic systems, and cocycle theory. Notable contributions include work on global rigidity of Anosov actions, smooth conjugacy of toral automorphisms, and non-uniform hyperbolicity.
Dr. Kalinin has been awarded multiple grants from the National Science Foundation (2002-2014) and the Simons Foundation (2016-2026). He teaches advanced courses like Concepts of Real Analysis (MATH 312) and has supervised numerous research projects in dynamical systems.
His work appears in top journals such as the Annals of Mathematics, Journal of the American Mathematical Society, and Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems. Key themes include measure rigidity, cocycle cohomology, and applications of geometric methods to dynamical problems.
