Boris Dralyuk, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Tulsa, where he also holds the Presidential Professor of English & Creative Writing title. A poet, translator, and critic, he bridges literary traditions across Russian and Ukrainian diaspora communities, with a focus on exile narratives, historical trauma, and intercultural dialogue. His work intersects with roles as Editor-in-Chief of Nimrod International Journal and former Editor-in-Chief of the Los Angeles Review of Books.
- Education: Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from UCLA
Dralyuk’s research interests center on poetry and translation, particularly works by émigré writers from Eastern Europe. His recent projects include translating Alexander Voloshin’s Sidetracked: Exile in Hollywood (forthcoming 2026) and Vernon Duke’s Passport to Paris and Los Angeles Poems, which explore displacement and cultural reinvention. His poetry, such as My Hollywood and Other Poems (2022), melds personal reflections on Ukrainian identity with broader themes of war and resilience.
