Boris Bukh is a Professor of Mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where he has been active since at least 2023. Previously, he served as a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge and Churchill College. He holds a PhD from Princeton University (under advisor Benny Sudakov) and undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and City College of San Francisco.
His research focuses on pure mathematics, emphasizing ideas and beauty in the field. He maintains a publications page and curates a list of intriguing mathematical problems. Since 2023, he has organized the Math Kangaroo competition in Pittsburgh for school students.
Bukh has participated in numerous academic events, including the DCG Reunion Conference (2012, Lausanne), Mathematics of Jiří Matoušek (2016, Prague), and various international workshops and hikes tied to academic and personal interests.
