University of Southern Mississippiمعرفی
Dr. Boran Ma is an Assistant Professor in the School of Polymer Science and Engineering at the University of Southern Mississippi. She holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University (2019) and a BEng from Harbin Institute of Technology (2014). Before joining USM in 2023, she was a postdoctoral associate at Duke University. Her research integrates machine learning, multiscale modeling, and simulations for polymer materials in energy and sustainability applications.
Key research includes machine learning frameworks for structure-processing relationships in block copolymers, computational design of PFAS sorbents, and stimuli-responsive polymer networks. Recent publications explore graphene nanocomposites, electrostatic effects in ionomers, and Janus particle transitions.
She teaches Engineering Thermodynamics and Continuum Mechanics, applying computational methods to material challenges. Current projects focus on environmental remediation materials and multiscale modeling of nanocomposite laminates.
