Heather Broadhead

Heather Broadhead is an Associate Teaching Professor in Polymer Science and Engineering at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her research focuses on developing functional polymers for biomedical and personal care applications, with emphasis on antimicrobial materials and stimuli-responsive surfaces.

Current projects investigate bacteriophage-integrated antimicrobial coatings, oil spill remediation technologies, and novel formulations for hair care products. The laboratory specializes in surface modification techniques and characterization of bio-reactive polymer systems.

Dr. Broadhead completed her PhD at USM under Dr. Marek Urban, with postdoctoral training in formulation science under Dr. Robert Lochhead.
