Bonny Millimaki is an Associate Professor of Biology at Lipscomb University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Middle Tennessee State University (2003) and a Ph.D. in Genetics from Texas A&M University (2010). Her research focuses on neural development and the neurotoxic effects of environmental chemicals, mentoring 6–10 students annually in independent projects. She teaches undergraduate courses like developmental genetics and neurobiology, and contributes to the Biomolecular Sciences (BMS) master’s program through courses in cellular molecular physiology and ethics in biotechnology. Recognized with the 2016 Outstanding Teaching Award, she also advises Lipscomb’s TriBeta honors society chapter.
Her academic journey includes postgraduate research on auditory sensory cell genetics and a decade of teaching excellence. Millimaki’s work bridges classroom instruction with hands-on research mentorship, fostering student presentations at regional and institutional conferences.
