Bonnie Sue Boardman

Bonnie Sue Boardman is a Professor of Instruction in the Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering department at The University of Texas at Arlington, where she has served since September 1999. Her expertise spans industrial engineering education, production systems, and learning analytics innovation.

Dr. Boardman holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville (1997), an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University (1992), a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville (1991), and an M.S. in Learning Analytics from UT Arlington (2023).

Her research centers on Engineering Education, focusing on curriculum development for transfer students and freshmen through game-based learning like Factorio simulations. She pioneers Learning Analytics applications to enhance teaching effectiveness while advancing Production and Inventory Control methodologies via agent-based modeling and supply chain optimization.

Dr. Boardman's 20-year publication record reveals consistent innovation in engineering pedagogy, evolving from scheduling algorithms to modern learning analytics and simulation-based instruction, with recent work emphasizing participatory modeling for complex logistics systems.

Her accolades include the UTA Outstanding Assessment Practitioner Award (2020), Provost’s Teaching Excellence Award (2008), and five consecutive Outstanding Academic Advisor nominations (2014-2018).
