Dr. Bonnie Roberts is a Teaching Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University's Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. (2017) and B.S. (2005) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in thermal/fluid systems and sustainable design.
Her research integrates fire safety with sustainable building practices, thermal insulation optimization, and engineering education innovation. She develops pedagogical frameworks for design courses and STEM outreach programs, emphasizing hands-on learning and industry collaboration.
Award recognition includes the 2023 'Golden Screw' Award for teaching rigor and the 2022 George T. Abell Award for mentorship. She leads curriculum redesign initiatives and coordinates capstone design projects connecting students with industry sponsors.
