Bongjin Hong

Bongjin Hong is a Researcher at Michigan State University's Department of Microbiology, Genetics, & Immunology within the College of Natural Science. He joined MSU after serving as a Research Scientist at Northwestern University's O’Halloran lab, where he focused on elemental analysis of human cells and chemical synthesis methodologies for drug delivery platforms. His current research at MSU investigates inorganic phenotypes in human health.

Dr. Hong's research integrates biochemistry and biomedical engineering with expertise in elemental analysis, chemical synthesis, and drug delivery platforms. His doctoral work focused on dendron-modified self-assembled monolayers and DNA microarray surfaces, which aligns with his ongoing interest in molecular engineering and health applications.
