Bobby C. Rogers is a Professor of English and Writer in Residence at Union University’s College of Arts and Sciences. His work bridges creative poetry with critical scholarship, emphasizing Southern literary traditions, biblical themes, and cultural critique. Rogers holds an M.F.A. from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
His research focuses on contemporary poetry, regional identity, and interdisciplinary studies. Notable publications include three poetry collections—Paper Anniversary (2010), Social History (2016), and Shift Work (2022)—alongside critical essays on Denise Levertov and May Sarton. His work appears in journals like The Southern Review and Image, and he has been honored with the Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize and a National Endowment for the Arts grant.
Rogers actively engages in campus creative writing initiatives, mentoring students through workshops and public readings. His academic contributions include teaching literature and poetry, with a commitment to integrating faith and intellectual exploration.
