Bob Geelkerken is a Full Professor at the TechMed Centre, University of Twente, specializing in Multi-Modality Medical Imaging. He holds an external position as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Medisch Spectrum Twente since 1995. His research focuses on vascular surgery innovations, endovascular therapies, and application of artificial intelligence in medical imaging.
Key research interests include abdominal aortic aneurysm management, mesenteric ischemia treatment, and surgical outcomes analysis. He has authored over 220 publications and actively participates in randomized clinical trials like CoBaGI. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being (SDG 3).
Notable activities include invited lectures on surgeon personality diversity and presentations on intra-arterial fluorescence angiography. He collaborates internationally and has received attention in media for his 20-year EVAR milestone at Medisch Spectrum Twente.
