Bo Wang

Bo Wang is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York (CCNY), part of The Grove School of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University (2022) and an M.Sc. in Control Theory from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2018). His research focuses on nonlinear control theory, underactuated systems, robotics, and networked control systems. He leads the Autonomous Systems and Control Laboratory (ASCL), which develops methodologies for autonomous vehicles and robotic networks.

Dr. Wang serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Vibration and Control (2025–present) and has reviewed for top journals and conferences like IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology and the American Control Conference. He has secured grants from CiPASS STEM and PSC-CUNY for projects in robotics and control systems. His teaching includes System Dynamics and Control and Special Projects at CCNY.

Key achievements include a Best Conference Paper Award (2016) and contributions to extremum seeking control, formation stabilization, and safety-critical systems. Current students include Tianyu Han (Ph.D.), Yubai Liang, and Junquan Wu (Master’s). The lab collaborates with institutions like Villanova University and UC San Diego.
