Blerton Hyseni is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Manager for Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Sunderland in London since 2012. He holds an MA in Tourism Management and International Tourism (2009) and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE, 2011).

His research investigates the impacts of tourism on local communities, motivations of international students studying tourism and hospitality, and strategic tourism development models. He also explores adaptive reuse of historic buildings, informal tourism activities, and their influence on planning in Eastern and Central Europe.
Blerton emphasizes practical learning and employability integration in his teaching, particularly on courses like BSc (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management and its variants.
