Blane Harvey is Assistant Professor & William Dawson Scholar in Geography and Environmental Studies at Carleton University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. With interdisciplinary expertise spanning social and natural sciences, his research examines climate change adaptation in the Global South, social learning processes, and participatory knowledge co-production. He holds a BA (Ottawa), MA, and PhD (McGill).
Dr. Harvey contributes to IPCC reports and UN climate negotiations, focusing on capacity building for adaptation. His publications consistently address equity dimensions of climate knowledge systems, NGO roles in climate services, and methodologies for transdisciplinary research. Recent work analyzes Indigenous participation in impact assessments and bureaucratic challenges in sustainability education.
