Bjørn Panyella Pedersen is an Associate Professor at Aarhus University's Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, specializing in structural biology and membrane transport mechanisms. He is also a LINXS Fellow and member of the IPDD Working Group 1 on Structure-based Drug Design.
His research focuses on elucidating the molecular details of sugar and cholesterol uptake mechanisms, particularly through structural studies of membrane transport proteins. This work bridges fundamental molecular biology with applied pharmacology and drug discovery.
