Björn Badersten is a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Lund University. He is affiliated with the Department of Political Science and has served as former Head of Department. His academic roles include being a Research Fellow and Assistant Editor of Statsvetenskaplig tidskrift (Swedish Journal of Political Science).
Research Interests:
Political Theory, Ethics, Philosophy of Science, Urban Studies, and Methodology. Empirically focused on cities as political spaces, including urban governance and public space dynamics.
Recent Academic Achievements:
- Awarded Excellent Teaching Practitioner (ETP) in 2011.
- Received Lund University Student Union’s Pedagogical Prize in 2015.
- Supervised and contributed to projects like the Urban Arena initiative.
Current Teaching:
Leading graduate and master’s courses such as 'Methods in Political Science' and 'Political Order in Time and Space'.
Key Projects:
- Active in the Urban Arena research network focusing on urban sustainability and governance.
- Supervised the project 'Sweden and the Refugee Crisis. Essays in Political Realism' (2015–2018).
