Professor Birte Nicolai is a faculty member at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, holding a position in the Department of Applied Biotechnology and Food Science within the Faculty of Energy and Life Sciences. She specializes in food technology, biotechnology process engineering, and sustainable food production. Her research focuses on innovations in sustainable meat production (via the PRECISE project) and waste reduction (TASTE initiative). She leads the ZAiT Center for analytics in biotech and food innovation and oversees the Academic Advisory Service.
