Birgit Kleim

Prof. Dr. Birgit Kleim is a Professor at the University of Zurich (UZH) and serves as Deputy Spokesperson for the International Resilience Alliance (intresa), while also acting as Principal Investigator for the DynaMORE project. Her work coordinates international collaborations across institutions including Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Radboud University Medical Center, and Tel Aviv University, focusing on translational resilience research.

Her research centers on dynamic models of psychological resilience in mental health contexts, investigating neurobiological and behavioral mechanisms underlying stress adaptation. She pioneers interventions targeting resilience enhancement through interdisciplinary approaches spanning clinical psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and preventive psychiatry, with emphasis on real-world applications for mental disorder prevention.

As Deputy Spokesperson of intresa, Prof. Kleim leads global coordination of resilience research networks. Her DynaMORE project integrates longitudinal studies on stress response systems, utilizing mobile health technologies to develop personalized resilience-building protocols validated across European clinical sites.
