Dr. Bintan Titisari is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Design, University of Leeds, specializing in sustainable textile practices, traditional dyeing techniques, and cross-cultural craft innovation. Her work bridges heritage crafts with contemporary sustainability challenges in fashion and textiles.

Current research focuses on bio-based colouration practices and curriculum modernization in textile education. Projects include:
- Colour4CRAFTS (EU-funded): Developing sustainable futures for creative industries through craft-based coloration and biobased materials (2024–2026)
- SMARTEX (EU-funded): Modernizing textile engineering curricula in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Pakistan (2020–2023)
Her interdisciplinary approach combines ethnographic research, sustainable material development, and community engagement. Professional memberships include the Society of Dyers and Colourists and the Design Research Society.
