Bingqing Xie, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in the Division of Hematology & Oncology. Her clinical focus includes kidney cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and management. She holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Illinois Institute of Technology and completed postdoctoral training in bioinformatics at the University of Chicago, with a focus on ovarian cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Xie’s research integrates machine learning, bioinformatics, and multi-omics data to advance precision medicine in kidney cancer. Key areas include identifying genetic drivers, biomarkers, and leveraging large-scale data integration. Her work has produced over 50 peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter, with presentations at numerous U.S. conferences.
Her research platform aims to unify kidney cancer clinical data with machine learning tools, enhancing accessibility for interdisciplinary collaboration. This effort seeks to accelerate discoveries and improve patient outcomes. Notable projects include studying diet-microbiome interactions in retinal diseases, microbiome-neurodevelopment links in infants, and hemodynamic modeling in dialysis patients.
Dr. Xie’s contributions span translational medicine, including exosome-based therapies for glioblastoma and computational drug repurposing for retinal disorders. She is actively involved in multi-omic analyses of Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and cavernous angioma biomarkers.
