معرفی
Associate Professor Bing Yu is a molecular geneticist and clinical scientist affiliated with the University of Sydney's Central Clinical School and the Department of Medical Genomics at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. His research focuses on translational genomics in precision medicine, particularly exploring somatic mutations in cancer for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
He completed his PhD at the University of Sydney, identifying hypertrophic cardiomyopathy genes and later investigating gene-environment interactions in elite athletes and motor neuron disease. His clinical work includes DNA testing for hereditary conditions and cancer diagnostics at NSW Health Pathology.
Research interests include predictive/prognostic value of cancer mutations, gene-environment interactions, and molecular mechanisms in neurodegenerative disorders. Notable publications span next-generation sequencing applications, cancer biomarker discovery, and genetic testing methodologies.
Key grants include projects on next-generation sequencing in ALS spinal cords and dietary sialic acid's role in brain development. He has contributed to over 150 peer-reviewed articles, emphasizing translational research in oncology and genetic medicine.
