Dr. Bill Swann is a Professor of Music and Chair of the MC Core Curriculum at Maryville College, part of the Division of Fine Arts. He has been affiliated with the college since 1999 and is actively involved in jazz performance, education, and community engagement. His roles include directing the Maryville College Jazz Band and serving as pianist for the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra.

Swann’s research interests focus on jazz performance, composition, and pedagogy, emphasizing technical skill, stylistic understanding, and artistic expression.
